Houseplants not only beautify and freshen up your home, but also have numerous health benefits, which is why a different houseplant is being celebrated each month throughout 2013. Times may be tough, purse strings are being tightened and you might need to cut back, but does this mean the end? Not for the Succulent, which is Houseplant of the Month for June. This tough survivor is a master at adapting to its circumstances and a true survivor.

Actually, the Succulent is not a separate plant family. Succulents, plants that can hold water in their roots, stems or leaves, are found in many different plant families. A well-known example of Succulents are Cactus. The only thing it will ask of you is a light position. Some varieties can cope with bright sunlight but others can’t. They are happy with any temperature and require regular water in the summer but only once a month in the winter.
