Wooler Youth Hostel & Shepherds' Huts is offering a three night break in one of their brand new four hand crafted traditional Shepherds Huts.

The prize includes three nights' accommodation breakfast each morning and supper each evening. It also includes a free day's cycle hire and a complimentary Wooler Cycle Hub Waterproof Map.

With its three star rating this rurally located hostel is set in its own grounds in the market town of Wooler on the edge of Northumberland National Park. The competition winners will be staying in one of the hostel's Shepherds' Huts which were crafted by local craftsman Mick Fairnington and joiner Albert Farinington. Northumberland Shepherds traditionally slept in huts on wheels which were pulled into the hills by horses during lambing season.

There are a vast amount of activities available to enjoy quite literally on the doorstep and many excellent walking and cycling routes within The Cheviots Hills. Slightly further afield many of Northumberland's beautiful castles including Bamburgh Castle Lindisfarne and Alnwick castle Hogwarts school in the early Harry Potter films!.

Wooler Youth Hostel was originally was built in 1943 for the Land Army Girls Many original features remain and throughout the building interpretation panels tell the story of its history and the history of its WW2 residents.

In a choice of Shepherds Huts ensuite family and dormitory rooms there is accommodation for up to 57 guests. Wooler Youth Hostel & Shepherd's Huts It is available to both individuals and groups such as walking cycling family and school groups.
